Arthur Alonzo² Bouton (Artemus, #4);¹¹^,¹² born 30 Aug 1852 at Rensselaerville, NY; George's birth record reports father aged 46 as of 6 Mar 1903, which would make the year of birth 1856;¹³^,¹⁴ married Lottie Smith before 1872;¹⁵ married Leah Maggie 4 Jul 1872; possibly in Rensselareville;¹⁶ married Mary Benetta LaForge (see #3), daughter of Benjamin Franklin LaForge and Mary (--?--), 11 Sep 1899 at Brooklyn, NY.¹⁷

Arthur Sr never spoke of his first or second wife, per all current accounts. There may have been others. Olive and Arthur were his childrend by the first known wife. The second known wife arrived with a child, both died of the flu. According to Grammie, he lost everything in the depression, which may have been related to his return to the east from Cleveland. He was worker at some point at the Navy Yard. I have a security badge from the yard with his picture. He also had Singer sewing machine patents at Navy Yard, Brooklyn, NY. As of 30 Aug 1852, he was also known as Alonzo Bouton Called Alonzo in the Rensselaerville records.

Children of Arthur Alonzo² Bouton and Mary Benetta LaForge (see #3) were as follows:

1 i. George Musson¹ Bouton.
ii. Floyd W Bouton; born 1907; died 1967; Married, no children.

3. Mary Benetta² LaForge (Benjamin, #6); born circa 1866 at Brooklyn, New York; Birth year estimated from reported age at birth of George;¹⁸ married Arthur Alonzo Bouton (see #2), son of Artemus Bouton and Emily Smith, 11 Sep 1899 at Brooklyn, NY;¹⁹ died after 1951.²⁰

She was the original owner of the black sewing rocker. Grammie remembers her as a very smart woman, with a good memory (her mother-in-law).²¹
