ALFRED CURTIS2 WATTS (Hendrickson, #4);10,11 born either 6 Apr 1875 or 1876 at Lynbrook, NY;12,13 married Margaret Josephine Rosche (see #3), daughter of John William Rosche and Fredrica Josephine Windtner, 10 Nov 1901 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Hicksville, NY; By Rev Paul G. L. Matschat, a Lutheran Minister who preached in German, and was related to the family;14,15 died 2 May 1956 at NY;16 buried at Greenfield Cemetery, Hempstead, Nassau, NY.17

He was a grocer, living with his parents in 1900. Alfred knew a lot about herbs. He lived after 1901 at Union Ave, Lynbrook, NY, In an old house built using pegs, per Grammie. Per marriage cert, "of Lynbrook, L. I."18,19 He was a railway supervisor, apparently. Grammie said he worked "telling people what to do when there were gold shipments and such" at Long Island City Station, NY. He was originally a member at the Baptist Church in Rockville Center, with his wife. In 1917 they joined the St James Methodist, brought by G. W. Rosche.

Freda remembers her father as an active Methodist, she attended services with him.20,21

3. MARGARET JOSEPHINE2 ROSCHE (John, #6);28,29,30 born 5 Dec 1873 at NY; 1901 marriage cert states "of Brooklyn, now in Lynbrook". Gravestone gives year of birth as 1873. Randy cites a bible record;31,32 married Alfred Curtis Watts (see #2), son of Hendrickson Watts and Anna Curtis, 10 Nov 1901 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Hicksville, NY; By Rev Paul G. L. Matschat, a Lutheran Minister who preached in German, and was related to the family;33,34 died 10 May 1960 at NY at age 86;35 buried at Greenfield Cemetery, Hempstead, Nassau, NY; Section 21 lot 106, grave 1, top body (husband earlied buried 8 ft deep).36

She was raised as a Methodist.37 The small rushed chair at Samson Ave came from her home. She was ill with severe burns from an oil stove in the house on Union Ave in Lynbrook. She spent 8 months in the hospital in Hempstead, was left with ongoing pain before 1905. She lived between 1908 and 1960 at 5 Sunset Ave, Lynbrook, NY.
